Una uña encarnada, también conocida como onicocriptosis, consiste en que el borde de la uña se entierra dentro de la piel del dedo, normalmente en el dedo gordo del pie; y puede provocar que la piel se hinche, sea sensible al tacto o que aparezca pus.

Para prevenir la aparición de uñas encarnadas, se recomienda cortar las uñas rectas y no demasiado cortas
